SPARK diesel generators — exceptional power, economy and reliability
Do you need a highly efficient, durable and economical source of electricity? SPARK diesel generators represent the pinnacle of reliability for emergency backup power and long-term operation. Thanks to lower diesel fuel consumption, longer engine life and safe operation, diesel generators are the first choice for households, farms, construction sites and industrial facilities.
Key features
The SPARK diesel generator range is divided into three key versions: classic AVR models, advanced inverter models and robust industrial generators. While AVR and inverter generators are intended for occasional power during outages or fieldwork, industrial generators are built for the heaviest loads and allow tens of thousands of hours of continuous operation.

Buying guide:How to choose the right SPARK diesel generator?
Diesel generators are known for their high fuel efficiency and exceptional torque, which helps them cope more easily with higher starting loads. To choose the right model and avoid costly breakdowns, it is essential to understand the three basic versions by intended use and to size the power correctly.

Advice from our service team:The two most common mistakes in buying and use
Based on our service department's many years of experience, we warn against the two most common mistakes that drastically shorten a generator's life or cause engine failure:
Buying a generator that is too small and running it continuously at 90–100% power
Customers often buy a generator that only just covers their current consumption and then constantly load it to the maximum. No engine is made to run continuously at the limit of its capacity. Imagine a car with 100 horsepower (hp) – could you drive it every day "flat out" at 200 km/h? Of course not; you would destroy the engine within a few months. A generator works exactly the same way. That is why you should always choose a generator that will cover your average consumption at 30% to 70% of its rated power.
Using an air-cooled generator for continuous multi-shift work
Smaller air-cooled generators are intended for occasional use. Their total service life is approximately 1,000 operating hours before major mechanical work, and servicing and valve adjustment are mandatory every 100 operating hours. If you need a generator that will run 8 to 16 hours every day (or even 24/7), an air-cooled model is completely the wrong choice. For such loads, the mandatory choice is an industrial diesel generator with a built-in water-cooled industrial/marine engine (1,500 rpm), which, with regular servicing, will easily last between 20,000 and 50,000 operating hours.
The three key versions ofSPARK diesel generators
Classic diesel generators with AVR stabilisation
- Intended use
- An excellent choice for occasional backup power during grid outages, work in workshops and powering construction tools or pumps.
- Features
- Air-cooled engine (3,000 rpm) with a built-in electronic voltage regulator (AVR) that automatically stabilises the output voltage. They combine high starting power and a robust design at an affordable price.
- Operating profile
- Intended for occasional use (Standby) and loads of up to 70% of rated power.
Inverter diesel generators
- Intended use
- Powering sensitive microprocessor electronics, smart household appliances or equipment that requires a pure sine wave.
- Features
- Air-cooled engine with advanced inverter technology that automatically adjusts the operating speed to the load.
- Operating profile
- Intended for occasional, precise and economical power with a lower noise level.
Industrial diesel generators (Heavy-Duty)
- Intended use
- Industrial plants, commercial buildings, farms and stationary systems for continuous power supply.
- Features
- They are driven by robust water-cooled industrial/marine diesel engines running at low speed (1,500 rpm). They are built into soundproof, weatherproof canopies with large fuel tanks for long runtime, and allow automatic transfer via an ATS switch.
- Operating profile
- Built for continuous operation (8–24 hours a day) with a service life of 20,000 to 50,000 operating hours.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Running at the limit of its capacity causes excessive engine overheating, accelerated component wear and a risk of serious failure. Just as with a car, you do not drive the engine continuously at full throttle. For a long generator life, always choose a model where your average consumption will represent between 30% and 70% of its rated power.
Air-cooled generators run at higher speeds (3,000 rpm) and are intended for occasional power (total service life approx. 1,000 hours, with valve servicing every 100 hours). Water-cooled industrial generators use low-speed industrial or marine engines (1,500 rpm), which allows continuous multi-shift operation (8–24 hours a day) and an exceptional service life of between 20,000 and 50,000 operating hours.
Industrial generatorsDiesel generators offer significantly lower fuel consumption, more torque when starting heavier loads and a longer engine life. In addition, diesel fuel is less flammable and safer to store. For frequent use or higher power outputs, diesel generators are considerably more economical in the long run.
Petrol generatorsATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) is an automatic changeover switch. When the public grid supply fails, the ATS switch automatically detects the interruption, starts the diesel generator and transfers your building's power supply to the generator. When mains power returns, the ATS automatically switches the supply back and shuts down the generator.
Generators with ATSOn air-cooled models, oil changes and valve adjustment every 100 operating hours are essential. On industrial water-cooled generators, regular services (changing the oil and the oil, fuel and air filters) are carried out at the prescribed service intervals (e.g. every 250–500 hours), allowing trouble-free operation for tens of thousands of hours.
