SPARK petrol generators — reliable and affordable electricity
Looking for a powerful, durable and cost-effective source of electricity? SPARK petrol generators offer an outstanding balance of power, reliability and ease of use. They are the ideal solution for home backup power during grid outages, fieldwork on construction sites, agricultural use and powering tools in workshops.
Key features
All SPARK petrol generators are equipped with advanced AVR voltage stabilisation, which protects connected devices from current fluctuations. You can choose between single-phase (230 V) and three-phase (400 V) models, with manual or convenient electric start and the option of automatic transfer (ATS).

Buying guide:How to choose the right SPARK petrol generator?
Choosing the right petrol generator depends on the types and total power of the loads you intend to power. Unlike diesel or inverter units, classic petrol generators offer the highest starting power per euro invested, which is key for powering demanding power tools and machinery.

Detailed comparison ofSPARK petrol generator types
Single-phase (230 V) or three-phase (400 V) generator?
Single-phase generators (230 V)
The generator's full power is available at the 230 V sockets. The perfect choice for most households, single-phase tools, mixers and lighting.
Three-phase generators (400 V)
Intended exclusively for running genuine 3-phase loads (e.g. industrial compressors, larger saws, 400 V pumps).
The most common mistake when buying is choosing a three-phase generator to power single-phase loads. With a three-phase generator, the total rated power is split across three equal phases. If you have a 6,000 W three-phase generator, only 2,000 W of power is available at any single standard 230 V socket.
Open-frame or silent (enclosed) generator?
Open-frame generators
They provide optimum air cooling of the engine, outstanding robustness and easy maintenance. The perfect choice for construction sites and fieldwork.
Soundproof generators
Built into an enclosed housing that drastically reduces noise. Suitable for built-up residential areas and zones with noise restrictions.
Silent generatorsManual or electric start?
Manual start (recoil)
Simple, reliable and independent of battery condition.
Electric start (key or button)
Lets you start the engine without physical effort. Models with electric start also allow you to connect an ATS automatic switch, which automatically detects a mains power failure and starts the generator.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
The main difference lies in how the electricity is produced. A classic petrol generator runs at a constant speed (3,000 rpm) and uses an AVR system to regulate voltage. An inverter generator, on the other hand, converts the energy it produces into direct current and then back into alternating current with a pure sine wave. Inverter models are quieter and more economical, while classic petrol generators offer significantly higher starting power for a lower price.
AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) is an electronic system for automatic voltage regulation. It automatically maintains a stable output voltage (230 V or 400 V) regardless of fluctuations in load or engine speed. This protects connected tools and household appliances from dangerous voltage surges.
SPARK petrol generators with a built-in AVR system can safely power most standard household appliances and tools. However, for highly sensitive microprocessor electronics, smart TVs, medical equipment or heat pumps, we always recommend SPARK inverter generators, which deliver a 100% pure sine wave.
Inverter generatorsTo calculate it, add up the running power (W) of all the devices you want to power at the same time.
Important: for devices with electric motors (e.g. submersible pumps, compressors, refrigerators, angle grinders), you must multiply the running power by the starting current factor — usually 2× to 3× the running power, as these devices draw significantly more energy when starting.
Use the power calculatorSPARK generators run on unleaded petrol (Eurosuper 95 / E5 or E10). The 4-stroke engine is lubricated with a quality SAE 10W-30 or SAE 10W-40 engine oil. Before the first start, you must top up the oil to the marked level, as the generators have a built-in safety switch that prevents starting when the oil level is low.
